Naples Housing Out of Local´s Reach
Naples is one of the newest metropolitan communities taking the nation’s real estate market by storm, and luckily, there is still plenty of Naples housing to go around. However, even a large inventory isn’t keeping Naples housing prices low.
Like the rest of Collier County, Naples housing prices have jumped to $500,000, according to Hanley Wood Market Intelligence. Naples pricing coupled with its popularity are putting the city’s real estate market far ahead of other markets on the Gulf Coast.
Naples housing is a great investment because of rapid appreciation, and it a nice city to vacation in or retire to, so it’s understandable that there should be so much outside interest. But what about inside of the city? How are Naples locals fairing in this real estate market boom?
An increase in residents generally means an increase in business, and an increase in business tends to bring more jobs. That just happens to be the case in Naples, but “job creation, while brisk, has mostly been in service industries.” This means that even though jobs are increasing at a rate of 7 to 10 percent, locals aren’t earning enough to pay for such steeply priced Naples housing.
